About Bruno Dubois

Trained under the tutelage of Marcel Lapierre, Bruno Dubois inherited his family's 3.5-hectare estate in Saumur-Champigny, solidifying his role as a prominent guardian of the region's terroir. Alongside renowned figures like Thierry Germain and Nadi Foucault, Dubois is at the forefront of promoting organic practices and purity within this often underestimated appellation.

Currently tending to vineyards aged between 45 and 65 years, Dubois' estate is a harmonious blend of vines intermingled with indigenous vegetation, fostering a thriving ecosystem with birdhouses, bat shelters, and beehives. The vineyard's topsoil, a combination of clay, limestone, and the renowned tuffeau stone, provides a fertile foundation for his craft.

Having settled in Saumur-Champigny in 2002, Dubois swiftly transitioned to organic viticulture in 2002 and achieved full organic certification by 2004. Subsequently, in 2012, his vineyards obtained EcoCert certification followed by Demeter biodynamic certification in 2015. Prior to his tenure in Saumur-Champigny, Dubois honed his skills working alongside Marcel Lapierre in Villié-Morgon, imbibing a deep-rooted commitment to land stewardship and a fervent dedication to organic and non-interventionist winemaking.

Embracing a philosophy of minimal intervention in the cellar, Dubois champions practices such as native fermentation, gentle extraction methods, and abstains from adding sulfites (with the exception of white wines). The outcome is wines that authentically reflect the grapes' essence, preserving the integrity and heritage of Saumur-Champigny.
