Fundamental Wines is a project that winemaker Joey Tensley and wife, Jennifer Tensley, have been talking about for some time. As owners of the highly-rated Tensley Wines label, the couple has spent the last 15 years traveling to wine regions around the world. During their travels they were consistently impressed not only by the higher end wines they tasted but also by the many quality value wines they came across. This wine is sourced equally from Paso Robles and Santa Barbara County, bringing the best each region has to offer to the bottle. The climate and clay soils of Paso Robles bring amazing power, color, earth notes, black currants, bacon and dry, rich tannins to the table, while the Santa Barbara County fruit, having grown in a cooler climate with sandier soils, keeps the wine fresh and balanced, with pretty notes of plum and cherry.
